There are camps for the performing arts, music, magic, computers, language learning, mathematics, children with special needs, weight loss, you name it. There are even many some religiously affiliated camps.

Summer Camps are often termed as growth-oriented supplemental educational programs as their primary purpose is educational or cultural development. The growth-fostering environment allows children to take healthy risks in a safe and nurturing environment. Most camps are compromised of adult supervisors, or counselors, and the kids who attend the camp, or campers. A few of the fun activities kids get to take part in at camps are campfires, hiking, canoeing, swimming, nature lore, arts and crafts.

There are different types of camps conducted according to the needs of each age:

  1. Educational camps
  2. Art and performing art camps
